- Signal Foundations Extensions
- Speed Signs
Challenges & Solutions
- Challenge: Working within live railway environments poses significant risks, therefore lines need to be blocked to allow works to be carried out safely.
- Solution: As trains cannot be halted for extended periods, the installation process needed to be efficient and was performed under line blocks during windows of reduced train traffic, such as overnight and weekends.
- Impact: This project exemplifies how careful planning and coordinated project management can result in the successful installation of critical infrastructure components in a complex and challenging environment.
- Challenge: Giant Hogweed, an invasive plant that poses a serious health risk to people, was present in areas of the site footprint.
- Solution: Initially, exclusion zones were put in place to protect staff. Specific risk assessments and task briefing sheets were prepared and briefed to all staff, and specialist personal protective equipment was utilised.
- Impact: Works were able to be carried out safely and the need for exclusion zones was removed.
Results & Outcome
The project has been delivered successfully and on budget and has met client expectations with regards to Safety. Quality and cost.
Conclusion & Client Feedback
